Feeling that I was developing an addiction to alcohol, I decided to enter a detox clinic in January 2019. I felt overwhelmed yet fully aware of the place that this addiction - said to be one of the most serious kind - had in my daily life. Photography would accompany me through this trouble period punctuated with withdrawal symptoms, treatments and encounters. Ethanol is a serie of impressions, snapshots, more or less abstract shapes that translate a state of ambiguous transition between fragility and strength, shame and pride. I chose to document this slow and silent struggle with myself through images.
